  • Carbonates & evaporites: Limestone and related sedimentary rocks are common in many arid coastal settings; salt and other evaporite minerals are also regionally important.

  • Collecting context: Many specimens encountered in trade are labeled broadly by region; confirm locality and matrix when possible.
